Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026. English translation of the Polish policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how SOL Mission collects, uses, stores and protects the personal data of people using solmission.org.

We respect the privacy of visitors to our website. We endeavour to process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, particularly Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR).

1. Data controller

The controller of personal data processed through solmission.org is Eunice Maratas – Holodynski, conducting missionary activities under the name SOL Mission – Serving Others in Love and operating this website.

For matters concerning privacy and personal data processing, contact us at modlitwy@solmission.org.

2. Data we may collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may process personal data you provide directly or that your device transmits automatically. This may include:

  • First name;
  • Surname, if provided;
  • Email address;
  • Address or town, if provided voluntarily;
  • Country;
  • Messages sent through the contact form;
  • Prayer requests;
  • Information in comments;
  • IP address;
  • Browser and device information;
  • Technical data necessary for the website to function properly and securely.

The scope of processing depends on which website features you use.

3. Prayer requests

SOL Mission allows visitors to submit prayer requests. Data provided in the form may include your first name and other information you choose to share.

A prayer request may reveal religious beliefs, health information, family circumstances, personal problems, life circumstances or other private or sensitive information. Providing such information is entirely voluntary.

Purpose of processing

Data in prayer requests is processed solely to receive and read the request, pray for the intention described and, where necessary to fulfil the request, share it with authorised people involved in SOL Mission’s prayer ministry. Prayer-request data is not used for sales or marketing.

Legal basis

The legal basis for processing ordinary personal data in a prayer request is the submitter’s consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. If a request contains special categories of personal data, particularly health information or religious beliefs, processing is based on the submitter’s explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) GDPR.

Confidentiality

We treat prayer requests as confidential. We do not publish them on the website, social media, in printed materials or in other publicly accessible places without separate consent from the person who submitted the request. Public sharing of a testimony or an answer to prayer also requires separate consent.

Information about other people

Please do not include unnecessary personal data about other people. If your request concerns a relative, friend or another person, we recommend limiting the information to what is necessary to explain the prayer intention.

Retention

We keep prayer requests only for as long as needed to fulfil the purpose for which they were provided. As a rule, this should not exceed 12 months from receipt, unless the person concerned consents to further storage or another lawful basis permits continued processing. Data is then deleted or anonymised. You may withdraw consent and request deletion of your data at any time.

4. Contact form

If you contact us through a contact form, we may process the information provided, particularly your name, email address and message. We use it only to read and answer your message, correspond about the matter you raised, and provide security and protection against misuse.

The legal basis is, as appropriate, your consent or our legitimate interest in handling correspondence and answering messages. We retain correspondence for as long as needed to conclude the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards where necessary for documentation, security or protection against possible claims.

5. Comments

If comments are enabled, we may collect the information shown in the comment form, your IP address and browser information. Technical information may be used to detect spam, misuse and attempts to compromise website security.

An anonymised string created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you use that service. After your comment is approved, your associated Gravatar profile picture may be publicly visible beside it.

Comments and their metadata may be retained for an extended period to recognise and automatically approve subsequent comments and ensure the commenting system functions properly.

6. Media files

If you can upload images or other files, avoid uploading photographs containing embedded location data such as EXIF GPS data. In some cases, visitors can download a photograph and read its embedded location information.

7. Cookies

The website may use cookies: small text files stored on your device. They may be used to ensure the website works properly, remember settings, provide security, operate forms and comments, manage user sessions and support embedded content from other services.

Some cookies are technically necessary. Where non-essential cookies require consent, they should be activated according to your cookie preferences. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect certain website features.

8. Cookies for comments and sign-in

When leaving a comment, you may be able to save your name, email address or other details in cookies for convenience when commenting again.

If user sign-in is available, WordPress may set cookies for sessions, authentication and display settings. Cookies associated with administrator and other authorised-user sign-in support the secure operation of WordPress.

9. Embedded content from other websites

SOL Mission articles and pages may contain embedded YouTube videos, recordings, images, educational materials, links or other content from external services.

Embedded content behaves similarly to visiting its source website directly. External services may collect data, use cookies and their own tracking technologies, and record your interactions with embedded content, particularly if you have an account with that service and are signed in.

SOL Mission does not control external providers’ data processing practices. Please read the relevant service’s privacy policy before using its content.

10. Technical data and website security

The server may automatically record your IP address, connection date and time, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and information about errors and server operation.

This information may be processed to keep the website functioning properly, protect against attacks and misuse, diagnose technical problems, prevent spam, and maintain the security of the website and its users. The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest in website security and proper operation.

11. Who may receive data

Personal data may be shared only where necessary to operate the website properly or where required by law. Access may be given to:

  • The hosting provider;
  • Email service providers;
  • Website technical support providers;
  • Security and anti-spam providers;
  • Providers of services supporting WordPress;
  • Providers of services necessary for forms to work;
  • Authorised people handling prayer requests;
  • Competent public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Organisations processing data on our behalf should do so only as necessary to provide the relevant service and in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. We do not sell users’ personal data.

12. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some external service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers should comply with GDPR requirements, for example through a European Commission adequacy decision or appropriate legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

This may particularly concern external services for embedded content, website security, email or other online services.

13. How long we retain data

Retention depends on the purpose of processing:

  • Prayer requests: as long as needed for the intention, normally no longer than 12 months unless a lawful basis permits longer retention;
  • Contact-form messages: as long as needed to handle and conclude correspondence, and for a justified period afterwards;
  • Comments and metadata: as long as needed for the commenting system and moderation;
  • Technical data and security logs: as long as needed for security and proper website operation;
  • User-account data, if accounts are available: for the lifetime of the account, unless legislation requires certain data to be retained longer.

Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

14. Your rights

Data subjects have rights under the GDPR to the extent applicable to the legal basis and manner of processing. These may include the right to information about processing, access to personal data, a copy of the data, correction of inaccurate data, completion of incomplete data, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability where applicable, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdrawal of consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To exercise your rights, contact us using the email address in this policy.

15. Right to complain

If you believe your personal data is being processed contrary to applicable legislation, you may complain to the competent supervisory authority. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

16. Withdrawing consent

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. This particularly applies to data submitted through the prayer-request form. On receiving your request, we will stop processing on the basis of consent unless another lawful basis permits continued processing.

17. Protecting personal data

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, accidental deletion, unauthorised alteration, disclosure and misuse.

Only people who need access for a specific task should have access to private information, particularly prayer requests.

18. Automated decision-making

SOL Mission does not use contact-form or prayer-request data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect users.

19. Links to other websites

The SOL Mission website may link to other websites. Once you visit an external website, its owner’s privacy rules apply. SOL Mission is not responsible for the privacy policies or data processing practices of independent external websites. Please read their privacy policies before providing personal data.

20. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated, particularly following changes to legislation, website operation, features or forms, external services, or data processing practices. The current version will always be available on solmission.org. The last-updated date appears at the beginning of the document.
